How a CBCT Scanner Transformed Fendalton Dental Surgery

When Dr. Keith Chiang began feeling frustrated by the diagnostic uncertainty caused by his existing OPG scanner, he sought out Aluro to scope a 3D scanning solution.

Hear in Keith's own words how he overcame this challenge.

The challenge

"I always set my standards very high and like to find the root cause of a problem when patients come to me, or are referred to me. With the OPG I had been using for 2D scans, I kept getting frustrated because I could not give patients the absolute certainty of diagnosis that I would have liked. I had options to refer patients for radiology scans, but it was expensive and inconvenient for patients, which ultimately led to fewer patients opting into treatment plans."

The Solution

"After weighing up my options, I decided an in-house Cone Beam CT was the best path for my overall peace of mind and quality of care for my patients."

"My surgical-based practice needed something small enough to fit in the space available but with enough grunt to be able to help me diagnostically. Aluro equipment consultant John Stewart and Carestream were highly recommended for their ability to give me the best available diagnostic value at a very affordable price. And the after-sales support was a crucial factor too."

"Aluro recommended a Carestream CS8100 3D - and it was a great choice for our surgery"

The Results

"What used to cost my patients and myself 2 to 3 weeks of multiple appointments, plus the back and forth of waiting for results now happens within an hour of the patient walking into our reception."

"Patients are amazed and blown away by the images and the advances in technology. Some of them have said they are proud of having me as their dentist and impressed with the way I have invested back into the practice for better clinical purposes."

"I call it my Game Changer".

"I can now plan my surgeries in minute detail and am diagnosing so-called difficult cases with relative ease. There is no more "Maybe" in my diagnosis. It is sometimes scary as I can suddenly see so much more compared to a high-resolution OPG.
The team at Aluro has been amazing. Talk to them – you won’t regret it."
